Q&A: Mariah Chase from Send the Trend

Mariah Chase, co-founder of Send the Trend, an amazing online site that has every accessory a girl could need. Send the Trend is like your one stop shop for accessories at an affordable price. Mariah shares with us her secrets on her fall must haves, what she loves most about her job and what it's like working with her good friend Christian Siriano. What made you start Send the Trend?

I was inspired by my Co-Founder Divya Gugnani’s vision for how easy shopping should be.

Tell us a little bit about Send the Trend?

It's a subscription based site where everything is $29.95 + includes free shipping. We have a pretty great selection of fashion jewelry, scarves, clutches, sunglasses, hair accessories, belts-we're launching handbags & beauty too. We update all of the products & trends on the 1st of every month. We have some really fun stuff in store for the next couple of months.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I get to hunt for treasures that I think our customers will love. that's not a bad way to spend an afternoon. Christian Siriano is also a co-founder of Send the Trend and a close friend.

How would you describe his collection today from when he first got started?

It’s matured, for sure. He is so talented and he has been so smart to allow his customers to be the drivers of his education & development as a designer. I am constantly impressed by how often he hits the road to visit his accounts and meet, fit & design directly for the women who want his clothing. He’s building his business in a very real way with a focus on long term relationships with his team, his accounts & his clients. I order every season and every season my order gets bigger! Plus, I just adore him.

What are your fall must-haves?

My chic new Lyn Devon cashmere fisherman’s sweater, STT’s Gabbie Chevron Cape (http://www.sendthetrend.com/gabbie-chevron-cape?type=1) & a new Cabela’s hunting bomber hat. I go through 1 a season – no hunting needed!

How would you describe your style?

Hmmm….a mix – a little preppy, a little boho, a little Parisian chic wannabe. I don’t like any look that strives for perfect. Perfect isn’t real.

What are you looking forward to most this fall?

Thanksgiving & a quick weekend trip to Miami with friends.

What cant you live without?

Ice cream & Laughter. Definitely.
